The whole assumption that it is better to pay double the cost for electricity because it is produced by "clean" ******** is supported only by a bold face lie. The lie, the fabricated evil of CO2. Take that away and all the green industry will collapse. However the governments of the western world are so deep into this votes purchasing exercise that there is no way back

They said the Buffalo, were infinite and inexhaustable, then the same about the passenger pidgeon, then the northern cod, then the salmon, then the whales. Man is too insignificant to a have any effect on them. Now they say the same about the atmosphere.
Amazing that some are still dense enough to believe that.

Although I agree with the general thrust of what you're saying, I might disagree with you a little on the buffalo. It's my understanding that some elements (both in and out of government) actively encouraged the slaughter of the herds to deprive plains Indians of their livelihood and mobility, and force them onto reservations. Obviously, they understood there were a finite number of buffalo....

As long as you keep insisting the vast majority of scientists worldwide are members of some 'political hacks club,' you have no credibility. Period.

Troy, I was jus' funnin ya'.

Who said the buffalo were infinite and inexhaustible? Cape buffalo or water buffalo?
Walter or Harry? Since you refer to a "passenger", I assume you mean Walter because Harry Pidgeon sailed his own boat.
What's a "northern cod"? Do you mean "Atlantic cod", Gadus morhua?
What salmon do you refer to?
What whales do you refer to?
In what order did the aforementioned critters become inexhaustible, then not inexhaustible and what role did man play?
Brent Swain, there is simply no other tack to take with you - Everything you is say is retarded, your very existence is testiment to the forgiving, benevolent nature of man.

Now, Alan. If you start holding people to those standards, there isn't going to be anyone left to talk to....

Obviously, DeadWood, I am not going to compete with you on chemical formulations - I have a life and am not paid to pick my nose while playing Freecell, Googling AGW arguments, and ogling the newest class of bacne'd Abercrombie thong/push-up bra future wives of public employees being churned out by a public university. I am an expert on truth, right and wrong and as far as I have been able to tell, you have never made a single constructive, insightful, or intelligent right comment in this entire thread. Trust me - you shud just regress to the more malleable souls of the froshling because your bluster does not carry sway ouside of academia and with a few starstruck apple-polishers without the time or intelligence to find truth themselves (Bos will get there, eventually, but has too many irons in the fire. Troy fights just to fight. Your students believe you as an authority figure and they grew up in the age of AlGore. Shitheads getting grants nod yes. Everyone else, in the world, thinks you are full of it.). Think about this, hotshot - you are taking the time to galvanize eight people on an internet forum. WTF is wrong with you?

Much more worrying than the protecting warming

Nasa warns solar flares from 'huge space storm' will cause devastation

"Senior space agency scientists believe the Earth will be hit with unprecedented levels of magnetic energy from solar flares after the Sun wakes “from a deep slumber” sometime around 2013, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

In a new warning, Nasa said the super storm would hit like “a bolt of lightning” and could cause catastrophic consequences for the world’s health, emergency services and national security unless precautions are taken.

Scientists believe it could damage everything from emergency services’ systems, hospital equipment, banking systems and air traffic control devices, through to “everyday” items such as home computers, iPods and Sat Navs."
