| Actually, I havn't heard anything from the GW crowd lately. Al Gore got, what, $529 million of our money for his Finnish electric car company the other day. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125383160812639013.html The whole state of affairs lately is pure ****. |

| Obama owns a piece of that action, also, through the California group that has its teeth in the Finnish company. |

| "Global warming is getting worse. We have to come up with measures without which Olympic Games could not last long. "Scientists have said we have passed the point of no return," said Ishihara." Then why must we "come up with measures"? To what avail? |

| I cant resist to post here some words from Ross McKitrick: "I have been probing the arguments for global warming for well over a decade. In collaboration with a lot of excellent coauthors I have consistently found that when the layers get peeled back, what lies at the core is either flawed, misleading or simply non-existent. The surface temperature data is a contaminated mess with a significant warm bias, and as I have detailed elsewhere the IPCC fabricated evidence in its 2007 report to cover up the problem. Climate models are in gross disagreement with observations, and the discrepancy is growing with each passing year. The often-hyped claim that the modern climate has departed from natural variability depended on flawed statistical methods and low-quality data. The IPCC review process, of which I was a member last time, is nothing at all like what the public has been told: Conflicts of interest are endemic, critical evidence is systematically ignored and there are no effective checks and balances against bias or distortion. I get exasperated with fellow academics, and others who ought to know better, who pile on to the supposed global warming consensus without bothering to investigate any of the glaring scientific discrepancies and procedural flaws. Over the coming few years, as the costs of global warming policies mount and the evidence of a crisis continues to collapse, perhaps it will become socially permissible for people to start thinking for themselves again. In the meantime I am grateful for those few independent thinkers, like Steve McIntyre, who continue to ask the right questions and insist on scientific standards of openness and transparency." | Well, I'd not say they are fools, but dangerous people. That's why I'm posting at the blogs there, bringing in the voice of climate realism (I'm not the only one, of course). At the Copenhague 2009 summit all humankind is risking its future if the wrong decissions are made. If the GWA 'crows' are the only ones to speak there we and our children will suffer the consquences. That's why I think the "Cool Brigade" members should contribute with their respectful but firm posts there. Cheers. Last edited by Guillermo : 10-05-2009 at 06:18 PM. |
