Vacuum loss

I recently posted a reply to a thread in the software area that may have been better placed in boat building. Later the original post disappeared, than the whole thread was gone. I suspect Jeff cleaned up the mess, thank you Jeff. I’m troubled by a few things regarding this thread.

First is, that my response was brief and may have been misunderstood as something more than my opinionated opinion. It says amateur under my name for a reason. I try to restrict my posts to giving references but sometimes I can’t help myself. Don’t take me to seriously, and please don’t walk away after you ask a question.

Second, the question was about vacuum bagging a 48’ sail boat. I might try to help someone who is thinking about bagging a 12’ canoe because doing it yourself is the best way to learn. There’s nothing like turning a couple of gallons resin and a few yards of fabric into slimy garbage to press home a point. For a 48’ hull, the material costs are too high not to hire an experienced consultant. It might even save you money and improve the end product.

End rant!!

Gary

Yes, sorry Gary - I removed the thread after the original poster deleted the first post because it didn't make much sense after that. But I assume the original poster saw your reply before he edited... hopefully he just realized he had posted in the software forum and will post more threads in the boatbuilding or materials forums
