US asks China to help maintain global maritime security
http://militarynuts.com/index.php?showtopic=1386
Agence France-Presse | Apr 5, 2007
Quote:
The United States on Wednesday asked China to join a global effort to maintain international maritime security, as the Pentagon welcomed Beijing's navy chief Vice Admiral Wu Shengli on a rare visit.............................................US Vice President Dick Cheney said last month that China's military build-up and its successful knocking out of one of its ageing satellites with a ballistic missile in January were "not consistent with Beijing's stated goal of a 'peaceful rise.'"

Nice to see the USA practicing diplomacy.
Bush is not quite the mad dog we all like to think he is.
China has such a low profile in US media, only the financial pages really. That is a very good thing. If any one can keep a lid on US belligerence it is Bush. Speaking about the war keeps every one focussed on a crappy ineffectual country.

Who is next on the list of nasties? DPRK. Next to China.
I would hate to lead the media and public opinion of the USA into there...much better to not talk about it and keep busy in the middle east.

I think China will let DPRK stew until it falls over. Non-democracy tends to take a long view.

USA is napping their crappies, they know that soon they will surrender global economic power and Ru China together will simply not let them use their military might
Everyone has their day, look at the Roman Emp. everytime, a neighbour got too many elephants or catapaults, in went Rome, to (keep em down) pretty soon they overextended and whoosh poof they were gone

The gloves are on right now. When sentiment rises to the occasion the USA will prevail.

She looks a bit bored with New Zealand I think. She needs an international issue to perk up. Most of the big things shes done already, and there is nothing more to do.

You may have to think twice about that home fantasy of yours too. Housing is quite pricey. Lots of well screened rich immigrants ratcheting the prices up.

US asks help...

Reminds me of a story I heard some years back..
To see Lenin's embalmed body you apparently have to queue in the snow for hours...but for a bottle of vodka the guards will move you to the head of the queue...for a bottle of whisky, they'll bring Lenin out to you...

see Russians looking at whissky on the shelves with wistful far away look, the tax is huge so whisky is out of range
But OMG the range of vodkas is unbelievable, and the most wonderful of spirits
I have great difficuly sticking to a few shots a day, then when I am here, I cant afford it, anyway we get the yuppy vodkas that people mix with pop fizz wizz bang, like rattles me when people mix whisky with ginger ale, and stuff Mind you that local crap they call BuNDY IS UNDRINKABLE AS RUM, HAS TO BE MIXED
Now what else will we solve today?
