Tracker Marine / Nitro Boats

I purchased a Nitro 3 years ago and I have had nothing but problems with Tracker Marine regarding service, repairs, parts and the warranty. Tracker doesn't even want to deal with their customers and will refer them to one of their dealers. My dealer, Marine Max, has been no help either, blaming the problems on Tracker. As a result, I have several issues with my Nitro that have not been corrected and I have no answers. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences, or can suggest a course of action?? My next step is an attorney, but we all know who wins when attorneys are involved.

Yes, and yes. Call Dick Blackman at USCG HQ. 202-267-6810. They have been having problems with Tracker Marine for about 4 years. Every since Tracker bought up a bunch of companies, including Nitro and Mako, quality has gone to hell. They will send you a consumer complaint form. Much of it is probably warranty problems that the Coast Guard can't do anything about, but if there is anything in there that violates a regulation or could be a defect that could kill or injure you, they can definitely do something about it. At the very least they can send them a nasty gram. They have the form online and you can e-mail it to them, but call too. http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/defects.htm

You may also want to call BoatUS. They have a consumer department that deals with consumer complaints. They don't have the same legal restrictions the Coast Guard has. You can do it online at http://my.boatus.com/consumer/
