SOR abbreviation

    I dont know what SOR is
    could anyone give me a definition please

    Statement of requirements, ie what the boat in question is supposed to do and how etc...

    It's the goals you hope to achieve with the design, everything from the shapes selected, though the performance expectations to equipment and accommodations. It's the only way to design anything efficiently and have some reasonable idea, the end result will hit all the marks.

    I find it useful to split the "requirements" into:
    1) Legal and "class" requirements
    2) Fundamental to the use/mission of the craft
    3) Strong customer desires
    4) Nice to have
