Makes me laugh !!!!! I guess that on a public forum all opinions are welcome. Even crazy, jekyll and Hyde ones. I notice several odd ball posters who use personal attacks, poor vocabulary and a misguided thought processes. I regularly see posters belittle honest questions from people of less skill level. Its the life...... I say relax.

Interesting that you mention Joe McCarthy as we've been seeing a huge resurgence in this type of narrow mindedness in the last few years. It started in 1994 with the election of the last wave of right wing "saviors" to the congress. Of this group of bone heads, which were lead by Gingrich. They preached hate and conservative values, but as always with these types of "movements" (term used loosely) their real colors shine through eventually. Of the massive right wing sweep made in 1994, darn near every single participant has had to resign or retire in disgrace or is just about finished serving their jail terms! The United States has historically had a tendency to air it's dirty laundry on public "close lines".

After the shake up of the "McCarthy era" this country went on a social and economic "tear" through the 1960's, making dramatic gains for civil rights, personal rights, several environmental protection acts and assorted social, technological and economic advances, including landing a man on the moon. So, come on bone headed right wingers. Your narrow minded vision of what the USA "Should" be will likely again force us to see what we actually can and should be and we'll make more social and economic advances.

In other words, not a single social, technological or economic advance has been made for society, through or as a direct result of conservative right wing policies (except the 18th amendment of course). On the other hand, these same conservative values have repeatedly been the mitigating factor in forcing the hand of society to do something about the "restraints" placed on society by the conservatives. So again, come on bone heads, lets see how McCarthy like you really are.

As for what Steve (War Whoop) is up to, who knows, but obviously a considerable amount of discourse has been displayed from the onset of certain board members joining this forum, so Jeff will eventually have to make a decision about what to do with these types. Naturally, people are allowed if not encouraged to debate, but at some point a line has to be drawn. Particularly on those posters who seem to look for areas to propagate and extrapolate distention.

Talk about the kettle calling the pot black. This is a quote of one of the PM Dskira sent me because I didn't agree with some of his ranting:
"Don't mess with me, stay out of what is not your problem. Stay out of my way.
Understood?
Daniel
According to his standars, he should be kicked out too.

Perhaps narrow mindedness is always present in society. I worry that in modern society ,with multiple 24 hr media ,the narrow minded ones will gain much to great of an audience for their views. I wonder how in future thoughtful citizens or leaders will be able to make strategic, painful , long term decisions when constantly being hectored by media groups stirring up controversy by showcasing narrow minded views . The Media.
Recently, in Europe, the Media had a field day with this odd ball, poorly educated, small town, born again Christian minister who threatened to burn copies of the Koran. The coverage was everywhere and was presented in a way that led viewers to believe this narrow minded oddball was representative of American society.. It is going to require an educated society to defend itself against The Media showcasing narrowminded thought.

That may not have been particularly polite of Daniel, although it's hard to judge without knowing what he was responding to from you. But I would hardly equate it with the crap that War Whoop spews.

If you go to my (now locked) Election Predictions thread, you will find that the War Wart filled literally page after page with the same sort of abusive language to others, indundating the thread until it became useless. I don't understand why he isn't gone by now.

I agree with you that the media are too often blowing on the fire, always in search of stories of pain, death and negativity to show. With a commercial about latest chocolate snack bar between the stories, of course.

The other thread was closed for a reason and you drag that stuff over here? Very subtle, sinister barbs from one of the worst culprits, Par (It is a shame someone of his knowledge feels a need to lace his posts with his politics)... And whether McCarthy was right or wrong, I feel is not something for Boatdesign. You can't just let things drop, Daniel, and I almost gave you negative rep for that (big deal). THAT THREAD WAS CLOSED. Take it up with the moderator and let's not adulterate the rest of the threads with that stuff. It is obvious that the left and right despises each other but does it really need to be manifested on boatdesign? Really?
Now, Troy - not mature enough to stop! Stop, for God's sake!

He was posting the private message that War Whoop sent him, as an example of the man's abusiveness to other members. If you don't want to read any more about it, why are you stirring the fire?

That is one of a series of messages. He was irate that I wouldn't tell him what my family problems were. In my website, I posted that my business would be closed while I took care of family issues. He has insulted several people that disagree with him.
