Snark Rig

I'm looking for any info/advice on adding mast rings and a masthead pulley to an older Snark (pre-lateen rig). The current rig (mast slides through a mainsail sleeve, and the sail is either "all or nothing". No way to reduce sail) can be a handful when launching if you're alone on a windy day. It seems simple enough to do, but am wondering if there are any parts or kits out there that would be easier than fabricating. Thanks a lot!

Can you cut the mast pocket in the lower part and install a zipper? It would allow the sail to be reefed.
