| Oogh. I'm getting queasy just looking at the pictures. And I've never been seasick in my life. Came close, quartering the waves out of San Pedro one day. Of course, I had just finished stuffing myself on an incredibly greasy spaghetti and meatball dinner. A couple of minutes topside in fresh air where I could see the horizon took care of the problem.

| Well, thats the day when you order just half a soup, coffee or beer, to keep the table linen clean. Steaks one can order full size but has to hold the fork in, it otherwise will fly when the nose dives in...... The biig advantage of such weather is, that you have the undivided attention of the entire service and kitchen personal. Stay in the bar after the feast for at least 5hrs. where drinks are on the house and you are the only guest. The main hall and passageways stink like hell until the crew copes with it! |

| Come up and play in my backyard in the winter time.... The North Pacific, and Bering Sea, will show you a good time with 40 ft seas, and 90 Knot winds, and that is a fishing day....

| Wow, I always thot SE was part of the Seattle Borough until I just looked it up...You are dang near on the frontier with Alaska! I actually saw almost forty footers on an ebb leaving Cross Sound once - It can get crummy like any pass/bar with an opposing sea and current. |

| Surfin' Same here, come and play in our area anytime, winter, summer doesn't matter. When the roaring forties and screaming fifties decide to blow and the fetch is from South Africa to Tasmania via the Southern Ocean you just know you are gunna get a large swell and wave height of over 40 foot. We have tried surfing our way into Port Davey on the west coast of Tasmania in our 36' yacht, exciting is one way to put it. Stupid another! I was on an aircraft carrier in the South China sea duringa typhoon, we managed to wash everything off the flight deck. Not many people at breakfast that morning either. Cheers |

| BtPost and Get a life Thanks for your kindly invitations. I played in your backyards, as around the Hoorn, and have every sort of respect at least. But a 40ft wave over several hundreds or thousands meter of water is not the same as the same height over just 80 or 100 meter as in the North Sea. Hard to find a rougher area when the getting gets tough. Did you watch the video linked above? That was just force ten in spring! Force twelve in winter looks different. Regards Richard |
