"A man who does not fear the sea will soon be drowned, for he will be going out on a day, (or may I add, In a way), when he should not.
But we, we fear the sea, and we only be drowned now and again."

Saying from the Aran Islands of Ireland

Or to steal a flying metaphor. "I'd rather be on land wishing I was out sailing, then out at sea wishing i was on dry land".

Or my personal favourite.. "The only time you can have too much water is if you drowning (or sinking)".

To be shore, to be shore! from the old Irish [think about it!]

And I thought the only time you could have to much was when you were down to your last tot of whisky!

St. Patrick's Day is coming & beer prices where I am at have been dropping considerably as of late. A good combination which I intend to take advantage of. With the recent spring weather here, things are looking up.

Take care all.

Had dinner in an Irish pub tonight. Bartender had a tee shirt that said, "Celebrate St Patrick's Season!"

SOS...we're taking on water

I've always wondered if Phadrig had stayed in the country of his birth (Scotland) - would he still have become Ireland's patron saint (discuss - use one side of the paper only...)

Wasn't it the Irish who invented the bagpipes but the Scots haven't seen the joke yet! And did not the Scots first come from Ireland? the original inhabitants of Scotland were the Picts! I believe? Well that's it Bergalia hates me to now!! (probably hated me before but who's counting?)
