request cracks keygens

You know, in China, which is hub of pirate software, it is not considered a crime to seek cracks keygens etc
So instead of posting this bloke neg feedback, we should try put our point of view, in the hope of educating
Different cultures eh, in China, its ok to beat you child, truly, and I mean BEAT, In Russia the child is cherished
In Australia it ok to report you neighbour for the most petty infringment, of say watering your garden whilst water restrictions apply
Now I am not saying I am squeaky clean, in fact I inherited some software from Russia, I have not a hope in Hades chance of ever mastering it and I do not feel in the least part guilty
How many here have NOT downloaded a song?
how many have not told a lie, or embellished something to their own advantage?
This post is in reply to closed thread on warez, ( what zakkly is warez)

Me. Never downloaded a song. (Of course, I don't listen to music.)

Well, hell, if a story is worth telling, it's worth embellishing.

hehe,,,how come before this "keygens & cracks" time,,,,noone pissed and moaned when you recorded a song for a friend on a casset tape?,,,and isnt "most" laws written so that you can record and give it away,,but you cant "profit" from it,,,,,its that same "spew" of crap at the end of a n.f.l. game,,,so if i "give" you a copy,,it aint illegal,,but if i "sell" you a copy it is.
i probably have $50,000.00 in programs,,,i mean,,,i have a friend that has that much,,hehe

LJ,

In reverse order, "warez" is any collection of pirated software, sort of a slang plural.

You're right about trying to educate others, but I think Jeff shut it down to protect himself and the forum. Regardless of what you think of the law, aiding and abetting theft of intellectual property is a crime in the US. Jeff could be open to charges if he allowed any discussion of ways to obtain pirated software, which is what the guy was requesting.

Wow, that's a real accomplishment! (Note I didn't say it's a worthy accomplishment ).

Sorry Charlie you asked for this

Having taken the wee wee I applaud Jeff's decission as apart from the legal side it is morally wrong to assist theft in any way!! No matter the justification

It is very interesting to come late and read the mood of the debate/discussion. - I regard it as a learning experience and appreciate the resolution as being sane, sensible and logical.

Please post a positive rep point to the post above your post, I have started the movement here, Thanks -mas-
