Yes, she's 10. Lovely little girl, and a very clever one.
And she loves sailing aboard good old "Marie"!
Thanks everybody for the nice words.

Here is one for her to make Home made Gummi's

1 cup water
3 packages Knox gelatin
1 box Jello that makes 4 cups

Put Knox in water let sit 3-4 min to rehydrate, heat add Jello mix and pour into candt molds.

Let sit to cool or put in fride to speed cooling peel out of molds.

Cheers

PM me if you can't find molds

Thanks, alaskamokaiman.
I'll pass that to her.
But first have to find out what Knox and Jello are (I have to look at the supermarket)
Cheers.

Knox

Jello

More here.

Some people actually like this stuff - It seems that Jello is ubiquitous in hospitals. Because my father was ill for many years when I was a young lad I have always associated it with hospitals and illness. Not a good thing.

Best,

Leo

Thanks, Leo. I know that kind of gelatines but I don't know the trade marks, as I'm not fond of them. I don't know either if my children like them. Have to ask.
Cheers.

Smokey, yeah them were the days, little bit interesting! You'd be surprised how hard it is to take good rough weather pictures! you automatically compensate for the roll and it looks calm! Little bit of spray over the windows looks good tho!

California Tuna Clippers from 30s

http://content.cdlib.org/xtf/view?do...and=calisphere

Stumbled across this report on tuna boats and bait fishing.
Interesting to me as I fished in the waning years of the industry, before the purse seiners took over...1959 thru 1962, our trips were from 60 to 90 days...Everything in the accompaning story is true "as i remember it"
Tough Life, till i married the capts daughter and she "convinced me to qwit fishing ...

Here are some pictures of some hard working Marineros hooking up to a hotel rig in the Bay of Campeche - I believe it was the rig Jasminia.
