    SamSam - I don't know what to think - that's a bit frightening!
Rurudyne, Rustybarge - I'm in awe of these guys who can home engineer this stuff- ok they're spending a fair packet on it, but they've built vehicles that can go way beyond anything commercially available in this field. I kindof see it as an evolution responding to a niche - as rockcrawling has grown in popularity (no crawling in the UK as far as I'm aware - nowhere with rocks where you are alllowed, just mud plugging.) They've developed vehicles that can deal with more and more extreme terrain.

It seems to happen a lot with custom built vehicles, but it often ends up with the vehicle with the 'mostest' but is totally useless for anything else - its kindof like the bowerbird nests really.

    For instance, how low?

    How loud?

the loudest stereo thing has become really odd - the vehicles have to be driveable, but they can weigh 10000lbs with all the batteries and amps to get in the 40000w plus bracket. They windscreens have to be bolted in otherwise the sound pressure blows them out - and you can see the guy bolting the doors in in this video. They have to operate the stereo from outside the vehicle, because the volume inside will kill you. Really. And then, they don't play music, just a single test frequency. So they spend many tens of thousands pursuing something which has no use at all. Just fascinating.

Also, in a few more decades you may need some real rock climbing capability just to drive down American freeways....

EDIT: you know, with a pop-up top and adjustable ride hight shocks that just may be the look of cars you can stash on a yacht.

Not only are crocodiles present throughout Australia, but they’re also huge. This saltwater croc caught on film is estimated to be about five and a half meters–or some 18 feet–in length
