I had seen pictures of smaller examples but I thought that one might be a foam rubber exaggeration. I can see why they would be threatened... Meet on in the dark and it'd scare the previous night's crab salad right out of you. Plus there's the crab salad side of things too...

    Woman Hollering Creek?
You're close to where I grew up in the hills near San Antonio!
I'm temporarily trapped in the Godforsaken desert near Lubbock, dreaming of moving south again.

It might be funny to let some of those loose in an urban setting where they could still survive.

    Update on Notorious

I put up pictures of the Notorious somewhere up-thread. Large ship being slowly repaired.
November or December I went back and found it ashore, really tore up but didn't know why.
    This is why:
    Notorious Sinks

Another embedded link that shows how bad it was after being removed.
    Notorious in Pieces

But now this has happened. So ends the life of Notorious...
    Notorious Burns

Can't decide if vandalism or something else is most likely.

I think I have seen that crab somewhere. The type of crab that supposedly ate the remains of Amilia Earhart. That's why she was never found.

Athens Greece. The economy is so bad that city people, living in apartment blocks , have resorted to cooking and heating with wood stoves

    RX Composite,
If Amelia was eaten, it was by the Japanese.
She was wearing a pair of distinctive shoes, which later showed up on the feet of a diminutive Japanese soldier in a picture taken on a S. Pacific island.

Yep, the Japanese being the ones who killed her thinking she was a spy is very plausible.

If so the records of where she's buried were likely lost a long time ago.

A close relative of Ms Earhart was allegedly told privately by Chester Nimitz, at war's end, that she had died in Japanese captivity. What is plausible, is that it would have been hushed up to smooth post-war reconciliation.
