    I'm sorry but I still do not get the reference as it was stated,

    I am sure it was a joke but Im not getting it.

    as a forum owner with thousands of members, I have some edicate rules that I follow and one of them is to never talk politics on a open forum

    I think the joke was, Hoyt saw the posted picture of the donkey in the boat as the Democrats Navy because the donkey is the unofficial symbol of the Democratic Party, and is often used as unofficial a party logo by Democrats themselves.
    A joke should be OK, but you're right, politics on a open forum often gets out of hand . . :(

    Speaking as a conservative, I'd be okay with a comparable picture of an elephant in a suitably larger boat bearing the caption: "I know my *** is somewhere nearby!"

    I was going for a second subtle meaning (on the surface referencing the other poster, but also that the Republicans often just can seem to find their own asses).
