Hi the1much,
Is that your "lake camp"? looks very nice and comfortable - Summer there now so you must have spent the winter in hibernation with a couple of bears (nekkid wimmen) for warmth?

Klompzeilen - Clog Sailing

This is kinda split off from Hoyt's build thread, post #140 and beyond . . . .

To not further distract there I'll post this one here . . . .
Black Pearl

More pics here, use the button ‘‘FoTo's’’ on the left.

Cheers,

Nice!

I enjoyed the diversion and was not in the least troubled by the interesting contributions. You may continue there if you wish. It made the thread more entertaining.

What do you think of the name Klompen Kat for the Teotwawki boat?

I know it was not a problem, but this thread is a nice place for Black Pearl, so here she is . .

Don't think Klompen Kat is a good name for your boat as the hulls looks most like Klompen when upside down . . .

So the name could be a provocation of fate . .

Good luck !

In high school, my friends and I acquired a condemned life boat off of a ship down in Galveston. We patched it up and took it out sailing with its lug rig sail, four oars and a rudder. No center board and not much keel so could not get much of a close haul to the wind.

Edit: I just found where I posted this before. Getting old is tough.

Hmmm, that would be a bad omen. But cats do always[almost] land on their feet.

Dankje!

Perhaps use this thread to post an update on my retired pensioner project

October 2010 I started a totally scratch build Lotus 7 project and everything was custom made on this car by your truly, chassis, all grp body panels, right down to pedals and ally adjustable coilover shock units.
Car is nearing completion now; just need to put the engine together and install and fabricate the windscreen unit. All the white body panels to be painted green same as the boot (side and rear ally panels stays natural) and mesh screens, bonnet clips, trim rubbers etc to be fitted on final assembly after paint job. The side exhaust runs on the left hand side of car and mounting brackets visible for same.

I only worked on the car when I felt like it and could have completed it much sooner had I put my mind to it
BTW, used the daily Corolla runner as scale - fronts aligned evenly.
Estimated car weight about 590 - 610kg fully completed and the engine is a Toyota 3SGTE making 190kw - cannot wait to burn some black top....
