FBM Swath - Submarine tender

* WMC provided the trials crew and full training to HSC Code for the FBM Marine Stormaster 23m Swath used by the Royal Navy to transfer crews at sea plus providing the crew examinations and issue of Type Rating Certificates.
* Swath vessels are usually similar to Catamarans, although the dynamics are quite different with semi-submerged twin hulls. Swath stands for small waterplane area twin hulls. The buoyancy of the hulls is below the waterline.

Apparantly they a very comfortable - and fast! Got several running up and down the river here regularly (know some of the crews well - related to a few [distantly] not that that has anything to do with it!) but **** they look weird!!

For sure... if draught isn't a concern, and you don't have to handle a huge range of loads, it's amazing what you can do with a SWATH.... I think our Coast Guard has a couple as survey ships, they're just so darn stable.

Hellish weather, rogue waves, a sinking ship.
A soothing balm for the sailor.

Naw Rayk don't look like anything to worry about - just a few rain drops is all (you wish!)

Confused?

Looks like a guy repairing the lip of the boat edge.

All that paint on the dock deck could be an attempt at color matching, but I'm not sure.
