| Avrocars While we're on the subject of hovering stuff.... let's go back to the late '50s, and take a look at the Avrocar- Canada's real, working flying saucer from 1958-61. US military money, a few slightly eccentric Canadian engineers, and they came up with this. | On glass boats one should glue and not screw, there was a whole thread on this very topic What was being attached with such emphasis? got a shot of the topsides? ... OUCH - the work of an angry wife/girlfriend?

| I suspect it'll be launched, go for a five-minute run without incident, then sit at the dock for a day with the bilge pump constantly on. Then the batteries will go flat. The owner will show up the next day, notice that his slip is empty, and phone in a stolen boat to the local cops....

| thats nothing I once saw a hole street of houses accidentally built facing the wrong way the developer thought it would be advantageous to save a little wear and tear on the roads and curbs and decided to put em in last instead of first good plan eh |
