It is a great lil' boat. You don't gotta luv wooden boats to luv that one! It's for sale. If I were a sailboat guy I'd probably buy it but KnottyGirlz has standing orders to slap me upside the head if I even consider it!

The first LCAC's are 40 years old. They operate in the worst conditions possible, a fog of salt spray which they themselves make. All things considered, the floatation box refurbishing as part of the multi-million SLEP program is overdue. After every land based operation, they take a fresh water shower, it's a pretty cool looking set up. When up to five LCAC's are on the mother ship, they can't get away from constant salt water and salt air exposure.

I'll try to post a photo of this later, can't seem to locate one, know I've seen it before. Just a bunch of pipes set up like a hoop arch (looks like a temp/portable garage before the fabric is applied) which the craft takes a shower under.

Great Motor Photo

It has all the classic elements: a photograph that captures a unique moment in history, dealing with speed, daring, bravery and skill. It makes a statement about who we are and what life is all about. Oh, and it's got an unusual twist to it, too. See if you can spot it:
