If they keep doing that, they could make the Alinghi team and defend the America's Cup.

Sharks ain't the only things down there!

This picture was taken by a Tomahawk helicopter flying over Lake Worth , (For those of you who are not local, Lake Worth is near West Palm Beach , Fl.)

That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!
Are you ready to go fishing in Lake Okaheelee?! If you water ski -- try not to fall.
A 6' 5' tall, game warden with the Florida Game and Parks Commission, walks past the 23-foot, one inch alligator that he shot and killed in the back yard of a local resident.

Pretty big, Jer. I know there are big ones all over. They got that big because they're just barely smart enough to stay out of sight.

Looking down at the Kissimmee River from a bridge a few years ago, I spotted a gator swimming. I was thinking that it looked pretty big, then I realized that I was at least 30 ft above the river and more than 100 yards from the gator. Then it looked reeeeally big.

This one was discovered during the last expansion of the Orlando airport.

Gator (mouth is wider and shorter than a croc's and teeth don't stick out when the mouth is closed).

Yup. they can get pretty big. Not usually as big as the biggest crocs, but once they get past a certain size ... they're pretty damn big.

As far as I know, (not much, and I seem to talk first & engage brain later), Crocodiles inhabit Africa & Australia region (otherwise known as "salties" here and in Melanesia) - Charlies description is spot on. Crocks are also capable of blinding short bursts of speed, whereas Gators are more "docile"... Little fresh water crocodiles have a very much narrower mouth and are usually a lot smaller than "salties".

If you visit Australia, swim with a crowd and in their midst, and be very warey anywhere north of Geraldton in Western Australia all the way around to the Whitsundays (Queensland) and possibly a bit further south...

For someone who lives in Port Charlotte why are you surprised? I have seen Gators almost that big when I cut across Alligator Alley. If you go 20 miles east you are in the Everglades. Hydo, I think you need to rent an airboat and see for yourself Just don't go swimming
