I cant wait to start this project!!
A wise man once told me... You have to know where your from, to know where your going!
)
Any help would be a blessing!

Hay "the1much", aka (Jim), I see you have the caption "ayah,,,i can get ya thereah " at the end of your posts...I was wondering if you were from the New England states area...I'm from Maine myself and miss the accent. Well anyway... anyone can chime in if they have any input to my boat! Thank Yall!!

Davie Jones,
Somewhere on the transom (usually the upper starboard corner on the outside, although it may also be on the interior of the transom) there should be a HIN- a 12 digit alphanumeric code- stamped or embossed in the hull (or on an affixed plate).
The first three letters are the MIC (manufacturers identification code), you can look them up at http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic_database.htm
The next five numbers are this boat's unique, manufacturer-defined model/serial code.
The final four letters/numbers are the date of manufacture in one of several formats: Month-Year (2 digit month followed by 2 digit year) or Model Year (reads as M##x, where ## is the model year and x is the month: August=A, September=B, October=C etc) There is also a less common date form that reads as month code (Jan=A, Feb=B,....), last digit of year of build, then two digit model year.
Foreign-built boats sometimes have a country of origin code in front of the HIN, eg. FR-.... for a French boat.

CCGS Griffon downbound St. Lawrence Seaway lock at Iroquois April 12, 2008

I spent almost 6 yrs on the Griffon in the early 80's as a deckhand, steward, storekeeper and purser. The ole' girl is getting a little long in the tooth at 38 yrs old this year.

Refer to http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/m...il.aspx?id=BLB . Note under "comments" that BLB is one of several MICs issued to Bayliner Marine Corp. Brunswick is a massive conglomerate that owns at least 48 boatbuilders, including Bayliner. They also own about a dozen engine, drive and accessory brands (including everything relating to Mercury).
Your HIN is in an odd 14-digit format. Ignoring the "9V" appended to it, the build date would be Feburary 1980, which looks about right.
