I have not fished in more that fifteen years. I bought a
new fly rod, reel, tackle box, assorted flies and stuff at
Wal Mart. I will get a regular bait casting set up later.
Fly fishings is my passion. My Dad is 88 and can still
lay a fly on the edge of a lily pad and get a big old red
ear to hop up and get it.



It says they don't like surface lures? They ain't fished with Dad and I!

Porridge and worm fishing is not for me either. I only do lure fishing.
I don't think one ever forget some techniques. Once you have it it's there forever.

No fishing in 15 years... you must be starved

We have a blue gill sunfish in SA. Same shape as yours, grows to about 150mm.

We have Blue gills as well, but the Red ears are a lot
meaner. The meanest in this size range are the rock
bass. Rarely get to a pound, but fight like a marlin.

Well, it has been a couple of weeks.

Sold my truck and had to get a trailer done to take its
place. The truck was thirty years old, bought it new,
and had very little done to it. Still had the original
muffler clutch, brakes, third battery, first set of replae
ment tires, original spare never out of the holder.
A little rust here and there. A real beater.
Put a trailer hitch on the car.

Working on all the little stuff that will drive you nuts.
Like clamps to hold it on the trailer and the mast supports
for trailering.







Plus fighting with a robin that built her nest about six
feet off the ground right over the side of the drive way
and every time I work in the drive I get dive bombed.

Finished the oars!

Finished the clamps that will hold it on the trailer!



Finished two of the supports that will hold the mast, boom
and oars while trailering.

They hook on the seats and are pulled together in the
middle. The boom goes on the outside one so as to not
have to take all the lines off.



This one goes on the mast step. It will be adjustable.
It has rained nearly ten inches in the last week or so
and they say three more days of it, so I have time to
get a lot of little stuff done. But I need to have the
supports and mast setup to mark and drill this piece.
Then finish it and put the felt on the dowels.



Maybe this year?
