| I just relocated the water tanks (2 25gal)in my cabin after 30 years, no sign of vents anywhere. The water pump is a bronze hand pump....only thing I can figure is that air goes back in after pumping.

| . This was the Hess oil tanks on St. Croix after hurricane Hugo. They were on the leeward side of the hilly ridge that runs down the center of the island. 200 mph winds created a vacuum on the donwind side and imploded the tanks. Edit. Thinking about it, that seems backwards. A low air pressure outside the tanks would cause them to expand and explode. Hmmmmm. ![]() |
