| He he he... that is why I didn't want to say too much ! They did however, for a 'young' team do very well. Not much worried about getting big heads. Once it reaches a certain size they always topple over by themselves - one of gravities laws If it was a boat they woud capsize ![]()

| Funny how different people are eh. The wife's little niece is a biltong salesgirl (dunno if that is the female for salesman) and at the match where Holland or Netherland or the Dutch (who knows what else they go under) played she tried to sell them biltong. Now how far behind in life can a country be if they don't know what BILTONG is Good grief some of us lives on the stuff eh. I'm so ashamed of the coutry where my forefathers forefathers come from... ![]() Oh and if any Holland guys check this out, forget rhino horn and all those old wiemen stories, biltong is the best meat there is... ! It'll put 'huppel in jou knuppel' which means for the illiterates that does not understand Afrikaans 'It taste very nice' ![]()

| Hey Fanie; I live in Florida so gimme a break and tell me what Biltong is? As for putting "hupple in jou knupple" I'm not so sure I'd even want that. Ha! However maybe they need that in NZ to play whatever game your talking about. Jeeeze! I got a lot to learn. Pete |

| Hi Pete, Quote:
![]() Biltong is meat (beef mostly) cut in thinnish strips ~10mm, then spiced to taste and hanged up to dry or put in a fanned dryer or even an oven at a lowish temperature. The meat doesn't get cooked. You guys call it jerkey although I don't know if jerkey is made the same way, I think you cook jerkey first. Of course if it was as nice a biltong you wouldn't have called it jerkey, you would have called it biltong ![]() Biltong is also made from game, each have a different texture and taste and ostrich is the only bird I know they also make biltong from. It's origin started before there was power to cook with and before there was charcoal for a braai (BBQ), however since we are returning to those romantic powerless times here in SA, I doubt biltong will ever go out of fashion. 'Droe wors' (directly translated is dried sossage) is as popular and is mostly beef and a bit of bacon for taste. Fit for a king. Stole the pic off Google 'biltong pictures' There is no way I go fishing (or boating) without it. If you don't have time or equipment to make food then biltong and dry wors goes a long long way. Oh, and of course it tastes great with beer, or brandy and coke. Make that a double for me please ![]() I was referring to the socca going on here. Haven't seen much of it though, just get a glimpse on tv once in a while.

| Ok I see 'jerkey' is made mostley the same way as biltong. I didn't know you had cows there too, I knew you had bears and buffaloes and elk and salmon but then we have lions and other wild things roaming the streets here Sure, they break into our homes and steal our stuff ![]() Ok Louis L'Amour had some cows in his books but I didn't know there were any of them left. They must be quite old by now ![]() Quote:
These figgin vu vu zillas being blowed all the time... and some brain dead ****** even blow them in the street here every now and again. I bet they are going to be banned for the next world cup. I can't believe anyone can do anything properly in that noise. It's like a car hooter each, just imagine a big parking lot and they all go non stop all the time. Well, those blowing them probably doesn't get affected. Sound doesn't travel in a vacuum ![]()

| What is mystery meat ? Donkey, camel, horse, dog, baboon... ? Yes well, you have to be a wee bit selective. This is Africa. Expect anything from our beloved countrymen ![]() You shouldn't belive everything you think ![]()
