Noah's Ark

It seems Global Warming is at last being taken seriously. Dutch creationist Johan Huibers of Schagen in the Netherlands has just completed a replica of the biblical Ark, using the old biblical measurements. Huiber's 'fully functional' ark is 150 cubits long, 30 cubits high and 20 cubits wide. That's two-thirds the length of a football (soccer) field and as high as a three-storey house.

Beats me where he found all the biblical 'gopher' wood to build it.

Can't help it .... whenever I read anything about Noah's ark I think of the old Bill Cosby routine.....

Noah: "Hey God, Yahweh, or whatever your name is, I quit! I'm sick of this stuff! You wake me up in the middle of the night, tell me to build a giant boat and put two of all the animals in the world in it. Now the neighbors are all making fun of me, the old lady down the street is threatening to go to the elders because it's blocking her view, my wife's complaining about the smell from all the animals you made me gather.... that's it, I've had it, I'm quitting!!!!!"

God: "Noah....... how long can you tread water?"

This Ark has been discussed before in these forums. It's built over an steel barge hull, as can be seen in the image, so it's not a real Ark, but an ark like superstructure.

the now feek animals, like eliphants are going to be replaced with real ones.
there are plans for a -real sized- ark 2.5 longer making 14 times the volume.

Oh Guillermo. Now you've spoiled it - and I thought it might herald the Second Coming (or should that be going...)

This made the news again yesterday, I almost posted it agian myself. It's is a cool story even if it's just built on a top of a stupid barge.

Well, he's a creationist, so he build it to prove that it is to be taken literally.

Yup, more than eight kilometres of fresh water, all suspended in the clouds. And after another forty days - woopty-doopty - it all went somewhere unexplicable.

What an idjit that fellow is.

On the other hand: It takes one to know one ...

Yes, as kids we were always told the whole of the earth's population could fit on the Isle of Wight...Having been to the Isle of Wight, I think I'll take my chances elsewhere...(stands by for storm of protest from Wightians....)
