New Member Introduction...

Hi, my name is Joe. Pretty original member name eh? From that sentence you should have been able to figure out that I am Canadian, if you didn't no worries, cos' now you know. Anyways, I digress...I am in the market for a new purchase of a boat. I have looked around all winter and learned as much as I could. I thought the next best place to learn would be where people have that experience, i.e here @ boatdesign.net

I have a few questions that maybe people could answer or provide any opinions, suggestions, facts, etc. All information will be viewed as helpful in my wife and I's quest for a boat for our family. In no particular order here are the questions that I pose:

1. Jet Drive Boats vs. I/O, Stern Drive, O/B Boats? What are the real facts and the hard comparisons that lean people to make their purchases? (I am looking at buying a 2007 Challeger 180 SE).

2. What are the improvements made to newer boats, i.e the design, structual integrity, etc. compared to boats made 5 - 10 years ago.

3. Does anyone know if the 2007 Challenger 180 SE equipped with a 215 SuperCharged 4 Tec ROTAX Engine is a good engine? Explain. Good Boat? Explain.

More questions will be bread off of the information and answers that I recieve from these ones and be directed in terms of PM's or broadcasted for everyone's knowledge. Thank you again for all that helped. I look forward to any and all replies. Thanks, Joe.

Sorry J.Peterson - no help from me either. I'm just an old fashioned narrow minded traditonal (nothing after the hollowed out log era) kind of sailor. But I do have an aunt in Calgary....
And welcome aboard anyway.
It may be the slow answers are from members looking for Canada in their 'Just like daddy's, first diary'....
PS - just where is Canada anyway. Aren't you part of America ?

Hi Joe,

Welcome to the forum.

You'll have more success spreading your Q's out to more specific thread areas.

Some may not read intro's & more importantly, long, multiple question posts seem potentially overwhelming & time consuming, many members (myself included) shy away from them. They are much less effective than spreading your Q's out some.

Take care, and once again welcome.

TGoz
