Need Help finding an Exploded Assembly Drawing

Im a CAD student in Illinois. And for a project we need to re-create an assembly drawing. Im having some trouble finding anything interesting to create. Does anyone know where I can find a piece part/assembly drawing for something marine related? IE-jet pump, outdrive, throttle control, steering mechanism?

It needs to have dimensions so that I can recreate it and be multiple parts.

I wanted to just do a re-draw of a current boat idea that I have sketched together, but I didnt want the rights to be stamped to the school incase it ever goes anywhere beyond an idea........

Any help would be appreciated, I seem to have no luck searching the web, or Im not looking in the correct place.
PS- Im using AutoCad 2012 and Inventor, although this drawing is going to be AutoCad specific..

Thanks in advance guys.

Try a google image search for "exploded view" Plenty to get started with there.

Remember, it's better to do something simple well, than something complex badly.

Agreed, But i did that search already. Problem I came up with, was there was nothing with dimensions.. Found alot of fun stuff to recreate, just havent found any dimensions.

Im wanting to keep it simple for sure. No need to overstress it when I have three other projects going on at the same time.

Either you need to do some more searching (and there are engineering drawings of all sorts of stuff around (Volvo have engineering drawings of their outdrives on-line). That might give you the external dimensions, and you can take reasonable guesses from there. Or choose some reasonable dimensions yourself, based on knowledge. It sounds like your project is to develop the drawing, not necessarily to get the dimensions perfect (as long as all the parts fit together).

Dimensions aren't usually (except diameters, and then, only if useful) shown on exploded views, because they clutter the drawing.

I don't think you'll find a fully-dimensioned drawing and an exploded view of the same thing. People tend not to publish the fully-dimensioned drawings for some reason... Can't think why ;-)

I simply Googled "dimensional exploded view" and got lots. Perhaps you should be taking a "How To Google Course". Don't laugh, they exist!
