No, quite often the opposite.

They are able to carry more load.

fishing boat are gigantic for their length, due to the regulation.
since it is mostly a regulation on length from the bow to the rudder post, the rest can be made enormous. the freeboard is high, the draft and the beam also as well as the displacement. a 400hp is lost at the bottom of the bilge.
i agree with apex, they will be an awkward yacht, but worth to try perhaps. the accommodations will be expensive on a small length.

i didnt explain myself i think, i mean leisure fishing boats not commercial ones.
Even small sized center console fishing boats (10 meters) in comparison to recreational ones for example.

Rampage for example builds fishing yachts

They are not different in general.
The fighting machines for big game fishing are sometimes different animals (not all), and designed for their purpose. Many of them are very capable craft, able to stand some pounding. BUT:

Catastrophic delamination on a new Bertram

That was/is marketed as such a boat! A cardboard box!

This one is a real fighting machine:

That's the kind of boat i would like to have some day

Yah i am aware of Bertram's problem! There was one for sale in Egypt for about 14,000 $ and more than one person advised me against it.
Although the hull design and layout where very nice ! with 2 6 cylinder CAT engines ....

Here is some pics for the bertam i mentioned ....
Needs a lot of work and the CAT engines seem in very poor condition (the engine has been opened several times it seems).

The new cat goes for 80,000 euro's with out customs ..... so thats around 160,000 euros + 40% customs ... well u get my drift ....

Still i like the hull shape size and layout ...

Thats a old one.

They have had no problems with delam! There simply was no core to delaminate.

There are many ways to skin a cat, but few to kill a CAT.

Buy her.

Show the seller the video I provided, get your friends (with the negative opinion) to come with you, offer 8000 to start with.
