Missing members...

I was just going thru some old threads and wound up looking fondly back at some of the posts made by MikeD. For those who don't know, Mike passed away some time back - we still miss his valuable knowledge base....

Anyway - it got me thinking about some of the other old-timers who seem to have slipped off the boards.... Dim, Polarity, 8knots, Duluthboats.
Gary - I know you're out there - but what about the rest of you..........................................................

Send them a PM or e-mail, may be they will want to get caught up.

I think I've seen 8knots around recently-ish (like, within the last year or two), and Gary is around, but in semi-stealth mode (Hi, Gary!). Dim has not been seen for a long time, though, as you say, along with Polarity.
C'mon guys - if you're just hiding, let us know.....
Steve

Dim suddenly stopt mailing and no reply after asking what holliday he went on and some died.
say 10.000 members playing with boats for 100 years ( we dont ) still accounts for a high dead rate.
facts of live as are my limping calculations, but yes, i miss some also...

Gary posted that he was having some problems, was moving a fair distance to sort 'em and would be back when ready! Apparantly it was real bad ****, give the guy a chance he's got bigger problems than talking to us! He'll be back when he gets the chance (probably gets a quick look at the net occasionally - keep at it Gary we're missing you buddy, get back when you can! But not before your ready; your priority is were your at!

"head hunting", Will - is likely part answer to the question you pose.

Newbies arrive - lurk a while - post a bit to gain aceptance and then head hunt...meaning take down publicly a senior member or two, in an effort to elevate their own status...

It's been a phenomenon, I've seen at many sites...and usually I move on...

Guillermo, a case in point - I'd be just as hpppy gone from here, while he persists...a panty wad if ever their was one!

Thankfully we have "ignore mode" here - or I too would have been well gone by now, for his spurious efforts!

Food for thought?

Cheers!

Gary moved out here to the Pacific Northwest and has a job near Seattle - but with all the rain we've had lately, he probably can't use a keyboard while the "pinfeathers" are growing in.

Artemis - good to hear Gary is sorting himself out,

Trouty (Oh do please say I'm on your list, it would make my day complete - children!) Give Guillermo a break (arm, leg, nose ), he is after all Spanish and they've had a bad year - had an even worse bugger two hundred years ago! Sez he like Nelson? See what I mean

Yes Michael D would surely be missed a lot. He writes a very good and interesting articles. Some of my work were inspired by his writings.

I'm sure he will remain to be an inspiration wherever he is now.

To all his friends, please extend to his family my condolence as i have known him only in this forum.
