Mini speed boat? Is it safe? What's it worth?

Over the weekend I put this boat together. It is a mid 80's 8'2" double hull fiberglass aqua lark. I just mounted a 1987 28 hp Johnson twin cylinder to the hull. I've never driven anything like this, tho I've lived on a lake my hole life and, am an experienced boatsman. Can people please give me some input on the safeness of this craft and what they think it mite be worth?

Put it in the water and have a check ride. It's probably heavy for it's size, but go easy until you feel confidant about WOT.

Great thread on Aqua Larks here: Seeking Info on 1979 Aqualark Outboard

I picked one up in Florida for conversion to a sternwheeler paddle boat. They ought to be as safe as any other undersized hot rod. Some dude in California even knocked off the design (Addictor) and started a series of races.
