| Marinising. Is there a good source of information on marinising as car derived diesel engine? I would like to use a 6 cylinder BMW engine. Biggles

| Yes, there are hundreds of threads here about that. Overall you get the same advice. Unless you want to do it as a hobby, it will cost you more than getting an already marinized engine and probably be less reliable.

| Hi Thanks for the reply. How so? Briefly of course :-) Edit to say. I have about 18 months to do this and I am an engineer. Biggles

| As mentioned by Gonzo, there is a whole departement on marinizing on this Forum! But in short: buying all the parts (if available) and marinizing a engine which is probably not set up to work in a marine environment, often comes out more expensive than buying a second hand marine engine. as said, briefly..............the rest where it belongs.
