MapTech to Navionics conversion

I have a Lowrance LMS-240 which takes Navionics charts on SDC memory modules.

I also have a full set of MapTech charts on CD...genuine paid for, not bootleg....

I am looking for software to convert the MapTech charts to a format that the LNS-240 can read on an SDC memory module.

Does this exist or am I now married to the Navionics charts that are pre recorded on SDC???

The main reason I want to convert the MapTech charts is that they are BETTER charts from what I can see in examples I have been shown, AND because at the prices they charge it seems foolish to buy Navionics when all I need are Black and White images (the LMS 240 does not display color)

With the optional GPS Mapping Accessories Pack, users can easily create custom, highly-detailed mapping on their personal computer, and save those maps to MMC or SD cards for navigational display on the unit. The GPS Mapping Accessories Pack includes Lowrance MapCreate™ CD custom mapping software, personal computer reader/interface, and one 16MB MMC card.

Unlike other mapping software, the MapCreate CD includes a special memory-saving "cookie cutter" map chooser tool. This unique Lowrance feature allows the user to create and save detailed maps of specific areas needed, thereby maximizing MMC card memory space prior to inserting into the LMS-240 for display.
Seems to me you can create your maps, then save to an SD card. Mabe you have the wrong card..

I read that but interpreted it to mean I could "create" maps. i.e. I could create them from whole cloth. Not that I could cut and paste from BBS charts or others and convert them to Vector charts. If the latter is possible, that sounds like what I need.
