Leo,-- absolutely correct, it is impossible to have 100% English genes, but im as close as you'lle get.

Frosty, I meant like my previous reply to you that we all poke our noses into others affairs. If you care about the world, Im glad, but it can also be a paradox.

Take my country, under the "apartheid" rule everybody tried to "care", even harbouring the terrorist anc at the time to plan and operate terrorist attacks against civillians and millitary alike, sanctions etc etc, and Brittain comes to mind as one of the culprits....
That said, the country is now under a different regime, so called "democratic" but even worse than the one it replaced. Discrimaination is now rife, even youngster born after the 1994 election, get discriminate against and will not get a job because he is white. Even companies get ruled by the government to not employ whites.
When whites get together as a cultured goups, you are labelled racist.

The government in place now is incompetant, screwed up a good working country and infrastructure to a typical down the drain third world country rife with corruption, criminals and dispair to the very people it is suppose to benifit. And still they would blame their incompetance on apartheid, 17 years later!!! Even the fantastic low grades now obtained by the black students are blamed on, yes you geussed it, apartheid - the very thing that was killed before this generation matriculants were born...
What do we have now except for a misfuctioning goverment, bankcrupt municipalities etc, free porn, drugs - most of Nigeria's druglords are here, prostitution openly and everything else corrupt. Last night on the news again a group of armed robbers fled and was cornered and the leader a policemen off duty, a common occurance.
Funny, a lot of blacks nowadays - older part of population - says life was better under apartheid, and hospitals, welfare etc all worked properly. Schools were used for what it was intended for, need I go on?

Nationalation is a big issue and SA is slowly steering Zimbabwe's way. Overseas investers are worried, no further investment likely - just watch the recent Walmart takeover fiasco here where goverment dictate business -but, throught sanctions in the past they created a monster and do not have the balls to acknowledge it. Hope they loose heavily in investment in the near future. Anc is a communist affair, they even call themselves comrades and they are to stupid to realise communism died nearly two decade ago. Even China is more capitalist than commie nowadays.

And this begs the question; is caring a good thing or is it better to observe only and stay clear?

My heritage; My ancestor (Jacob Nortier / Nortje) came from France on the ship Oosterlig in the 1830's, married a French lady (Margaretha Mouton) locally and there the DNA string started on African soil for my parentage. I am a white face with a proud heritage, culture and South Africa is part of me as I am of it.

But of course, the Normans were just Frenchified Vikings... and the Anglo-Saxons they conquered were led by Danish kings.

Although the mishmash seems to have blended pretty thoroughly over the centuries, the roots of the average Englishman are at least as tangled as those of the average American. They just have a head start on us. Give us another thousand years, and maybe we'll come across as a homogenous bunch, too.

Homogenous? Have you looked at the English lately? They are as homogenized as trail mix. Pakis, Egyptians, Kenyans, Jamaicans or any other British Commonwealth member is represented on the streets of not just Englandistan, but Walesistan and Scotlandistan also. When will they be homogenized? Probably never. Just like here.
