lettering your boat

Do people put the town there boat is docked at on there boat or is it proper to put where you live as your port under your boat name.

Here's a thread on another forum that addresses that question:

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ion-16551.html

And another....

http://www.sailnet.com/forums/gear-m...ling-port.html

I'm willing to bet there's a thread somewhere on this forum addressing it already too, but it wasn't at the top of the google search results page for "boat name and port"...
