Every year the boat mags print pictures of hurricane damage to boats at moorings, in marinas or washed ashore (usually in conjunction with an article titled "Batten Down for the Big Blow! How to Prepare your Boat for a Hurricane" or something similar), but they don't hold a candle to Erik's photo above.

PS: I've been considering a move to Florida, perhaps Stuart or some similarly pleasant town, but this season is giving me some pause ...

Looks like one of those floating marinas was minced up and blown ashore. Going to be lots of insurance claims this year. Watch your premiums go up.

We're still feeling effects of Ivan all the way down here! The tides are running about 2 feet above normal, and we're supposed to get some rain from the remnants of Ivan this weekend. Amazing what mother nature can do.

I just finished my fourth hurricane in 6 weeks ,gene was the worst for us in w/cent fla. Im going out tomorrow to see what is left of the islands and beaches, this is getting a bit tiresom to say the least. As our governor stated its the price you pay for living in paradise, ok so when does the paradise part begin?
