how to get key to glove compartment

I have a foir winns boat. Lost the key to the glove compartment. The lock on the glove compartment has some letters and numbers on it. What is a way to get another key.

Usually you have to pull the cylinder and take it to a locksmith to have him make a key from it. To pull the cyl you will either have to remove the box behind the dash or have a locksmith pick it to open it then remove it.
