Help to raise my boat from the bottom of a lake

Found this video about raising sunken boat by airbags and then towing her below the surface to somewhere else . . . .

Good video and to pull a small boat you don't need a large boat; just need enough power, stability and strength to overcome wind and current.

 

I always carry a towing bridle, wye shaped, to go either side of outboard, with which I have pulled boats much larger than my own.

 

Mine should look a bit like this.

 

It's amazing how large of a vessel one can tow when there's no wind or bigger waves.

I once saw a guy low on fuel in a 75' yacht,using his 5 hp tender to move along...

Reminds me a few years ago my new anchor got fouled.
After an hour of fooling around I: got a jar,put my camcorder in it (turned on,facing down) with the lid tightened up.put plastic over the lense of a couple flashlights then duct taped them up (waterproofing) then duct taped them to the jar.
Weighted the jar,tied to a rope and let it ride down the rode 40' to the end a few times,then pulled it all up and looked on the lap top to see it was hopelessly tangled in old logging junk.

Perhaps you could do the same thing just to be sure it is indeed your boat before wasting time with divers?

 

Well now that you mention it, good minds think alike I have hooked up this little thing.

 

Or, take a week off and get your diving cert and check it out yourself.

Would love to I haven't had a week off in 14 years but as a I'm a full time carer that's never going to happen, even to get one day out on the boat I have to book respite a month in advance and just hope that the weather turns out fine on the day.

Well it turned out not to be my boat so the hunt goes on. As Liam Neeson would say "I will look for you I will find you and I will rebuild you"
Great effort by the guys/girls for putting up with the cold and having a look.

 

That must have come as a little bit of a surprise ?

 

I'm kind of getting used to it this is a video of when they dived on another image we found I was sure this was her.







A bit of bad language in this when we found out it wasn't her sorry
