Hello everybody!

Hello, my name is Stefano, I work as a designer in Italy, mainly on motorboats but I like sailboats too.
I hope I will find interesting people to talk with into this forum, even if my english is not perfect.
Will post my design soon to know your opinion!

Hi, Stefano! Welcome to these forums.
I've seen your designs in your web page and found interesting "La barca sicura"
I would like to know if the built in unsinkability by means of closed foamed spaces, has been a bonus to sell the boat.
What kind of foam are you using? 30 kg/m3 seems to be an open cell one....
Also, May it arise a problem of water saturation of the foam with the ageing of the boat, so making the boat heavier?

Thanks, for guillermo: I agree with your dubts about my unsinkable boat, I recently made some stability checks and found it won't float up end if flooded.
But consider it was only a concept I made when I was a student! I won only a second prize in that contest, mainly because I didn't dig in stability problems.
Anyway, my goal was to design something "realistic", so I added safety features to an ordinary boat, but I won't apply this solution into a real boat, there are many problems overtaking the effective safety earned.
