This post seemed to have gone unnoticed . With Micheals permission I would like to post it again.

In a close knit society as we now live in ( not when the constitution was written) Why would I agree to let you walk down the road with a gun but I dont.

Why should I agree to let you have a killing implement and trust your drug free sanity, sensibility, tolerance, around my wife and children.

Police get training, you have nothing.

Not true. I have a gun -- and you don't.

Ah now we are getting some where --yes you said it, you walked right into my trap. You have a gun and I dont and that makes you feel good, better than you would without one.

You need to feel more than the people next to you.

Why do you feel insecure next to my wife and children.

Then you go for a beer (slured speech) My gun is bigger than yir gun .

Tunnels,
Nobody is forcing you to own a gun or go hunting. But your atitude is you would force everybody to your philosophy! Fortunately you are powerless. If you had any power you would be an enemy. Then you'd be tied on somebodies fender!

I think he knows that. Some how your not quite on the same frequency.

Your replies dont address the post.

Only an enemy to your way of thinking, why the word enemy is the world at war to you, is confrontation all there is in America why would he be tied to a fender.

You should be on our side , your the best reason we have for gun control.

Why on Earth would I let you disarm me, just because you're unarmed -- or claim to be?

You're like tunnels; you're all hung up on some sick connection between a man's junk and his guns. Fortunately, I don't have that sort of filth staining my mind..... to me, a gun is just a gun. And it's pointless to tell me you won't 'agree' to me having one; I don't remember asking your permission. But congratulations on getting me to post again. Well played, Sir Troll.

British commonwealth nations have a different atitude than the USA. I've had this dicussion several times with Canadian friends. Individual rights are the priority in the USA. A free society is preserved by preserving the freedoms of individuals that make up society.
I may be mistaken, but commonwealth nations seem to put the common good ahead of individual rights.
The highest authority in the USA is congress. The 2nd amendment to the constitution prohibits congress from taking away our guns. As long as the constitution is in effect, nobody can take away our guns. Anybody who tries is an enemy of freedom. Non-gun owners are going to be at a serious disavantange in a gun battle to deprive us of guns. They'll go home draped over a fender like a dead deer.

Again you should not have a gun thinking like that.

Your the best gun control reason I have come across.

It appears this thread has become a spamtrap for insults rather than productive. Warnings were posted twice to please keep it polite to all other members.

Once again reported posts with insults directed towards other members have been removed, and at this point with little productive discussion, this thread is being closed.

Please, let's try and keep the forums a place where everyone, no matter what their diverse backgrounds, can enjoy coming to discuss the common interest in boats. If off-topic threads become hostile or places for insults rather than productive, interesting, and enjoyable discussion, they will be closed.
