Sadly the biggest challenge is to undo all the hate and anger, as that serves no useful purpose, and "defuse these bad situations" in a peaceful and mutually beneficial manner....

only way to help this 1 out is to either change the laws on diplomatic immunity, and embassy's,,or,,,,make it illegal for kids to go to schools that are not "controlled" by u.s. laws,,,,,which the first 2 would make it dangerous for americans in other countries,,,and the third,,well,,,,that would be "uncommon" sense,,so that wont happen,,,hehe

I think, but I am not sure, all school students must use only Govt approved textbooks and any "inflammatory literature" is a serious offence related to the "terrorism act".... Quite a few Muslim schools, catering for non muslim students as well, and using non Muslim teachers.... Some areas still oppose this and preach NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard)....

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Call it a lemonade standoff. A girl whose lemonade stand was robbed of $17.50 chased the suspect into a nearby home and called police, who spent nearly an hour trying to coax the man into surrendering.

"The guy came up and was, like, 'Give me your money,'" said 12-year-old Dominique Morefield, who was running the lemonade stand with a group of friends. "I was shocked. It was just my immediate reaction to chase after him."

Dominique dashed after the man who ran into a house, and then she called police. Officers eventually persuaded Steve Tryon, 18, to come outside after 45 minutes and arrested him on a preliminary felony charge of robbery.

Tryon made an initial appearance in Superior Court on Tuesday and was ordered to be held in the Vigo County Jail on $50,000 bond. He will be formally charged Friday, county Prosecutor Terry Modesitt said.

A telephone message seeking comment was left at the office of Michael Wright, a public defender assigned to represent Tryon.

"I didn't think anyone would come up to a lemonade stand and steal. That's really low," 12-year-old Fred Erstine said.

The kids said they would continue to sell lemonade, but with an adult's supervision.

Sadly the situation is even worse, a mum of five is in custody after her youngest? twins, were reported to police as being dead - they died of malnutrition/starvation in their bedroom 2 weeks earlier.... That is the sad state of our society today...

My opinion is that guns are no solution. (Nagnagnag). The US of A have a lot of weapons, and a lot of shooting incidents. Canada and Norway ar pretty much as well armed, but we do not have that number of incidents, so the attitude must be a factor...? And well; I do not buy the argument that they're more stupid..... (even if its coming a lot of really really stupid tv programs/ consepts from that direction nowadays...).

Tragic, whatever angle we try to look at things like this.... Kids should be safe, and it should be every adult's responibility to interfere when we get that "creeping" feeling.... ("something's not quite right here...?").

Sometimes I have interferred, in "domestic distubance", I've always thought afterwards that it was sillysilly... Police normally tells you that; ok, it was ok, this time you were lucky. But I know myself; next time I'll probably do the same, call for help and try to distract/ interfere.... Whatever.... A true candidate for the Darwin Award....

But really; a lot can be achieved by the simple fact that people understand that they are seen...

Since we're a bit more sivilized up here north; most of us coming from good homes with furnitures, we have an intermediate level between your level 2 to 3: Crowbar or ironrod, and then to level 4, and since we don't have something to prove, we normally goes for something kinder, than a 357.... a 30-06 or 12-70 or something like that... kidding.

The best is to call them coppers, here you really get their attention if you mention an incident with any weapon or fire-arms... But try to tell them that a bloke is messing with a short circuit on your motorbike..... "let's see, we may have a man ready for action in the next 3 days or so, can we say tuesday 1130?"...

Not the fault of the Police here... rather the (lack of) money available to run that business... But here we are rather polite, even if we stumble across some wrong abbreviations from time to time, use the wrong name, call a Galician for a Spaniard, a Texan for a BushClone, a Dane for Danish, a Honda for a j...... , so to zum up; Police here aren't armed (well they normally have two, protruding out from the area below the head, one on each side) and we are a gentle kinda people so any real tools except a calm attitude aren't needed.
