Very rarely, from time to time, Parliament gets the benefit of a good speaker.

Great stuff, Perry!

Nice to see a politician who is actually a decent public speaker ... and has a wicked sense of satire!! Our legislators typically put their colleagues, the pages/interns, the public, and sometimes themselves to sleep with their miserable, pedantic, self-serving attempts at oratory.

Look out "W" is about to screw everyone? I find it difficult to believe this, or understand the full impact of the consequences?

<quote> Bush unveils biggest budget in US history
United States President George W Bush has unveiled a $US3.1 trillion ($3.4 trillion) budget, the biggest in the nation's history.

Mr Bush's proposed budget is the first to top the $3 trillion mark, but he says it will keep spending under control.

"The budget keeps our economy growing, it's essential that we make sure that we deal with the uncertainties, the economic uncertainties we face," he said.

The defence budget is up 7.5 per cent to more than $560 billion, and that does not include all the money needed for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

The budget also predicts the deficit will soar to near record levels, hitting $451 billion this year.

But Mr Bush says if his policies are followed, it will be back in surplus by 2012. ,<end quote>

I feel the hidden items are the most to be feared. I recall a US commentator saying that the "middle east actions" are paid for (IN PART) by China loaning (bonds etc) to the tune of US$ 1 billion a week!!!!!

He may well go down in history as the destructor of the US? Borrowing heavily to support a loosing position has never succeeded, as the French bank recently found in their "rogue trader"?

Its and end game on the US economy. We have printed SO much money I just dont see how we can forstall a very LARGE devaluation any longer.

1960 the US Dollar was worth 0.65 Today its something like 0.02 against gold. I just dont see how printing more of it and giving it away is going to help. Argentina tried this back in the late 70s early 80s and went from 4% inflation to 240% allmost overnight. When investors start dumping US dollars, you can bet this will happen.

That French rogue trader has a wonderful future ahead of him. As an individual in the private sector, he found a way to lose/waste $7.9 billion USD/5.3 billion Euros. Wasting hundreds of billions of taxpayers funds will come easy... this guy was born to be a politician.
