the1, I have suggested before, order Ubuntu on CD from the web page - it is FREE as in $$$$$ and 1000 times better than the other stuff - I added a virus checker just so people can see their email has been scanned... go on, give it a try.... Ubuntu (and most other Linux "flavours" come with an office suite, email, web browser and music players - too easy....

I'm going to give old Linus another run soonish... I will set up a dual boot with Ubuntu on my backup PC on your tip M... cheers.

Jim there is plenty of good free stuff on Windows, just steer clear of most of MS's offerings and you won't be a target.

Opera - best browser by a country mile, used by so few its never a target.
Avast - Anti Viral and On Access Scanning, has not failed me in close to a decade.
Comdo Firewall - A bit more complex but a very precise tool.
Windows Defender - OK it is MS's but started out life as Giant (?!) and is mainly there for IE spyware attacks so thats cool.

Would you believe I use Opera, Firefox and IE on a daily basis. Opera is the main browser, Firefox when a badly coded site is targeted to the main browsers and not a coding standard and IE when some FWit lazy assed programmer has coded some complete bollocks that only functions with IE (happens more often than I like to see...).

Cheers
MBz

i got firefox,,and for firewall i got zone alarm pro,,sygate pro,,and some otha,,,,and i got avg pro anti-virus,,and eset nod32 anti,,and a few others,,,,most of the idiots that set anything off are the ones just scanning all ip's and once they find an active 1 they scan for an open port,,i got it set up so even an open port needs permission to do anything,,,,but i'll try both ubuntu and opera hehe

Jim, it will not hit you at first but take time to learn and configure Opera to your liking and you will be amazed. Start with learning mouse gestures...

Its worth the effort IMO..

Cheers

F'ck That...

Hello...

Life these days is about putting out fires with gasoline - to raise a NATIONAL flag...

A flag - I will stop there...

IED road side **** run in by a 7 year old who cannot read the English pamphlets that we scatter bomb onto them - type that **** into your computer - you are lucky to be able to do so...

Ah - I think that all makes some sense...

I am glad my nephew is home...

No whining got him back to us - his service and training and dedication brought him home - he is all bust up...

See http://youtube.com/watch?v=yi3NPdZtRvg ...

It is so hot today - I just might convert to the Catholic Church...
