Greetings from yet another new member!

Well I've browsed through these threads for a few days trying to get the general idea and I must say I'm impressed. Such a wide spectrum of knowledge and experience in such a small package!

A bit about me.....
I've been interested in boats my entire life. Of course being in the middle of North Carolina doesn't give a person too many opportunities to be exposed to the boating world unless you're a fan of bass fishing or catfishing. Classic wooden sailboats have always been very appealing to me. About twelve years ago I finally got the itch to build a small dingy so I got a set of free plans and patterns from Ken Hankinson and went to work. It floated.... we'll leave it at that. I built it in my attic and carried it downstairs, put it on top of the car and drove to a nearby lake. No leaks! Basically I let it rot before ever getting it painted.
Last year I built another complete with taped seams and a used sail. Success! Over the years I keep coming back to the same dream..... build or restore a modest liveaboard sailboat or cruiser.
I really like the looks of Ted Brewer's Mystic sharpie, but it's too cramped. Maybe this should be a next step in my learning process before tackling a serious boat for life on water. Plywood construction appeals to me since my woodworking skills are far from the level most of you seem to posess. I can't seem to find any info online about Atkin's Little Maid Of Kent (interior dimensions, headroom, etc), but it looks beautiful.
Ok, time to get back to browsing the many amazing links and articles you guys have posted. I look forward to being a memeber of such a diverse group.

In there you should find a pretty damn good index of all the Atkin designs both father and son and the Motor Boating books they were originally published in.
Also, IIRC, the family still sells plans and again a GOOGLE search should bring up the info on how to contact them.
