| Delete chrome and start all over again. Save any favourite websites first.

| Hallelujah.... Installed Chrome a year or so back and it did not last 1 day one my machine before I uninstalled it. Crappy and slows down the tin brain. I run Mozilla since it became available many moons ago with Google as browser.

| Finding a website is a complex operation in which the choice of browser is of little importance. I do not like Chrome because it hides its setup menu, but that's personal. Firefox sometimes also shows a no response or time-out error from boatdesign.net, probably because the request encounters heavy traffic on one of the DNS or acceleration servers along the route. Occasionally, if getting the forum directly results in an error, you can still reach it by going to boatdesign.net first and then click on the forum button.

| If the forum doesn't load and the homepage does, it could be because an SQL database backup is underway. The network route is the same and in theory, if the route to one of the dns servers has a temporary failure, dns should automatically query the next. The daily database backup should be quick enough that the page loads but with a noticeable delay if you hit the moment the backup is underway and the tables are locked, but depending on load, it could cause the behavior you are occasionally seeing CDK. I don't use Chrome on a daily basis, but I test with it and haven't myself encountered any chrome-specific issues to date other than some minor javascript/dropdown menu issues. It inherits its network settings from the system, so on a windows machine, chrome shares the network settings with IE by default.

| I use Chrome regularly and have not encountered any problems with BD.net so far. The problem might be due to your DNS provider, not due to Chrome. I have had similar problems with BD.net several years ago, but it was quickly resolved after I've changed the IP address of the default DNS provider in the computer's network configuration. |

| At times I even cannot reach my own website. To easy my mind I blame the hosting company Midphase, but it might as well be any other bottleneck between my satellite dish and the shared server in the US my site is located on. There are simply too many things that can go wrong; it is amazing that most of the time the Astra-2 somewhere over the Pacific receives my feeble transmission, relays it to a village in Luxemburg where it is presented to an internet node that returns the data I requested just a split second later.

| I just checked it with my Google Chrome and everything was fine. I think it was a temporary glitch or bug. Glad that everything is gone now! |

| I've used Mozilla Firefox for years, and I've had no problems with it. I see no reason to change. But I made Google my default start page a long time ago, and do 99% of my searches in it....
