| By our bootstraps, we'll pull ourselves up. As we do, I, for one will remember folks such as yourselves and give you every consideration you give us. If it comes to it, I'll vote "squash those F'ers like a bug - they don't matter". Thanks for opening my eyes!.. and uh, carry on, chaps. |

| You still don't get do you? - I am sure "Blind Freddy" is aware of the problems and issues you face, Your bankers control your politicians and you are in a very precarious position and still your blind arrogance ensures you stay blind... You are, I am afraid, a lost cause... The posts/links in the "CRUDE" thread adequately illustrated some near future issues... * - Oil will last 5 to 10 years then you will WALK of be riding a horse... (if you can find one - or even a pair of shoes) * - No trucks or ships or planes to carry "out of season produce"... * - Shelves in the shops will be mostly bare or looted... * - Farmers will mostly stop farming as there will be NO FUEL for the tractors to plough or for the trucks to deliver... * - Your electric grid will not handle the load of even 10% conversion to electric cars * - Your NATURAL Gas (not petroleum) cannot be used as there is no processing / liquification plants or infrastructure to deliver or retail * - Your "gas" tanks in your cars, will remain mostly empty as the refineries and distribution system is ageing and moribund (most of your "gas" is imported) * - You need access to money to finance a recovery and your debt levels are such that no-one will lend or accept in trade your devalued currency * - Fish in the oceans are near depleted (and no diesel to fuel the fishing boats) * - Your electricity grid is 100? years old and cannot cope now and to fix it would take at least 10 years, and 10 years for more generating plants, burning WHAT? * - You cannot import because your credit rating is SHOT - and what will you trade? - most of your manufacturing is now offshore... and no-one wants a monster car or truck... * - You cannot even pay back existing debts as the hedge funds have gone berserk with short positions exceeding 2 or 3 times the WHOLE WORLDS ASSETS... Devaluation of the US$ is on the cards, and will not please the rest of the world - - If someone cheated on me like that in trade - I would be disinclined to trade in future... What with Burma and N Korea working up their nuclear armaments, and significant political and economic realignment being forced on small countries like Australia and NZ to name but two... I suggest due diligence in research and avoid the majors in the media as they are dogs serving the bankers, check the links here in this thread if it seems sensationalist - take a jaundiced view, if the data seems to have been well researched, - - maintain that link for your information Form "tea parties" and make your congressmen and politicians aware of the folly of their ways... Ensure the next election will have 100% voter participation

| Subject: Every Town in England needs a Chief like this. A maverick mayor elected after promising to slash council spending, clear the streets of yobs and ditch politically correct services is the torchbearer for how towns should be run. On his first morning as Mayor of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, Peter Davies cut his salary from £73,000 to £30,000 then closed the council’s newspaper for "peddling politics on the rates". Now three weeks into his job, Mr Davies is pressing ahead with plans he hopes will see the number of town councillors cut from 63 to just 21, saving taxpayers £800,000. Mr Davies said: "If 100 senators can run the United States of America, I can’t see how 63 councillors are needed to run Doncaster". He has withdrawn Doncaster from the Local Government Association and the Local Government Information Unit, saving another £200,000. Mr Davies said, "They are just talking shops". "Doncaster is in for some serious untwinning. We are twinned with probably nine other cities around the world and they are just for people to fly off and have a binge at the council’s expense". The mayor’s chauffeur-driven car has also been axed by Mr Davies and the driver given another job. Mr Davies, born and bred in Doncaster, swept to power in the May election with 24,244 votes as a candidate for the English Democrats, a party that wants tight immigration curbs, an English Parliament and a law forcing every public building to fly the flag20of St. George. He has promised to end council funding for Doncaster’s International Women’s Day, Black History Month and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month. He said, "Politicians have got completely out of touch with what people want. "We need to cut costs. I want to pass on some savings I make in reduced taxes and use the rest for things we really need, like improved children’s services". Mr Davies has received messages from well wishers across the country and abroad as news of his no-nonsense approach spreads. Now it’s your chance to spread this most sensible way to run a town council. |

| Frosty, an excellent post, I hope the message catches on globally... but sadly, most politicians and associated leaders are so far up themselves, looking for the sunlight shining from their arses that there is almost no hope... and too many other people are likewise blinded - - - The King has no clothes - a little boy could see that.... Now - do something productive and read all this... and hopefully you will assimilate something useful... http://financialsense.com/fsu/editor...2009/0802.html This is a WARNING and tells it as it is WAKE UP... The good times have been set back, as the fundamentals for recovery do not exist - green shoots are ********, and as such is the dreaming stuff of someone on "happy drugs"... http://financialsense.com/fsu/editor...2009/0802.html mostly relevant to US internals but it will spread its adverse influence everywhere... http://financialsense.com/editorials...2009/0802.html Another lesson from history - still following the same format for other historical collapses... http://financialsense.com/editorials...2009/0802.html with lots of links/references added here http://www.economist.com/blogs/freee...s_recovery.cfm and then http://www.financialsense.com/editor...2009/0212.html and then http://www.dailyreckoning.com.au/ris...on/2007/08/07/ and then http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=aZ27ITF7gaoQ and then http://www.reuters.com/article/press...09+PRN20090428 All about OIL... | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIsCJUdGjuE OK, I know "politics" is a no-no but this one is sooooo cute hehehe I am confused (easy to do sometimes)... Raw data suggests lots more pain and disaster on the economic front , But Barkleys and HSBC have a very rosy and self-congratulatory attitude posting very satisfying profits... FROM WHERE and WHAT? all my devious little mind can think of is a little game of insider trading on naked shorts in precious metals and forex markets???? There is not that much business manufacturing activity around? Particularly markets in which to sell any kind of widget? The fundamentals / grass roots / manufacturing area is flat to dead... so someone is loosing heaps so the big bankers make huge profits from blue (or any coloured) sky... an Australian politician? http://www.pantsdown.wild.net.au/pantsdown4.htm in caricature...

With the talk of financial crisis receding, the focus will be back on the dollar. The US budget deficit is projected to reach $2 trillion in 2010. As the generation of baby boomers enters the entitlement phase, the deficit will only likely to go higher. Medicare spending for the first time exceeded contribution, and the Medicare trust fund became a net seller of US treasury instead of being a contributor. While the budget deficit situation is alarming, what concerns me the most is the waning appetite of foreign investors on dollar debts. Dollar debts owned by foreign investors currently stand at over $12 trillion. China, Brazil, India, and Russian are explicitly warning US to reign in deficits to save the dollar. I wonder when their patience will run out. - - - The dollar standard lasted 4 decades and channeled 70% of the world’s resources and investment to America, a country with 5% of the world population. - - - The jettison of the dollar standard will ensure uniformed distribution of wealth and investment throughout the world. I would boldly state that the global growth will accelerate as we enter a new renaissance with industrial and hi-tech revolution that will put the 1900’s industrial revolution to shame....""GOLD THOUGHTS" (Man, lots of shouting today hehehe) http://financialsense.com/editorials...2009/0803.html "...Such transactions are used to mask the true deficit from the public. They just may not buy anything...." bntii, do not forget to view this sites videos regularly http://www.worldenergy.tv/ Particularly anything with Matthew Simmons as he IS the best authority on OILS...

| What? people not telling the truth,,,? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8182671.stm But -but- banks are honest and straight people. I mean they would never---lie to people just to get money? would they? Try doing it to them,--if you like prison food. Rotten world --rotten to the core, Im going to put the radio on now and listen to some music for a while. This little storey has upset me,--banks are very very important this greed and filth breeds distrust and the very basics of credit without which the entire financial system that has got us here into the developed 21 century fails. This filthy greed and lies has come from the same place as credit without collateral orginated. I mean how low can we get? to sit with a fat cigar with feelings of superiority knowing you are personally responsable for poor people being poorer. If there is no room in prison for these arse holes then let out all the prisoners who are in there for not paying there television license fees, or those that chopped down a tree without permission. Its a fked up world . Wheres that radio. |

| This is bloody madness.... from Casey's Daily Dispatch of 03 Aug 2009 - - - Derivatives: A Closer Look at What New Disclosures in the U.S. Reveal (Fitch Ratings, Special Report, July 22) Fitch Ratings reviewed the quarterly filings of 100 companies from a range of industries representing nearly $6.4 trillion in aggregate outstanding debt. The 100 companies reviewed were those with the highest levels of total outstanding debt in the S&P 1,500 universe; they represent approximately 75% of the total debt of S&P 1,500 companies. The companies reviewed had a total notional amount of derivative positions in excess of $296 trillion and a net fair value in excess of $240 billion. … an overwhelming majority (approximately 80%) of the derivative assets and liabilities carried on the balance sheets of the companies reviewed were primarily concentrated in five financial services firms: JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMorgan); Bank of America Corp. (Bank of America); Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (Goldman Sachs); Citigroup, Inc. (Citigroup); and Morgan Stanley (Morgan Stanley)." Work that one out...... Is it something like you the investor in derivatives paid 296 trillion for something that cost 240 billion? - who is fcukin stupid beyond belief?... I have a car that is worth about 1600 surely one of you will buy it for 1,600,000? is that the right number of zeroes? These galactic telephone numbers are insane... That is more than the entire asset value of the commercial world excluding all that toxic ****... - - - - - - - Wait on a bit that gives the car a "fair value" of 1,600,000 so if I go see my friendly bank I should be able to package it as a nice derivative parcel and get a "AAA" S&P rating, thereby sell it for 2,000,000,000 or something (the bank can have the 1,980,000,000 commission as I am not greedy and will accept 20,000,000 of which the Government and other necessary bribes will reduce my net to about 2,000,000 and that is all I need at the moment... Thanks, CYA...

| nah I dont want to be that way Ill hand him the bill once I have it I do my own wrench work though so its the aggravation factor that is really unsettling I have time to work on it again tomorrow so Ill know more then assuming I can get the electrical system to come back up so far its scrap metal its got glow plugs but no rotation thing shuts down entirely once you turn the key to start and remains dead until I disconnect the batteries and let it sit for about twenty then it does the same thing again once I hook it all up again drove me batty for 12 hours on Sunday I can fix the mechanical components but the electrical is killing me no one I know has ever even heard of this happening from a fuel contamination rrrrrrrrrg he's still my friend but he's on dimwit status from now on on the economic front the banks are barking mad to have gotten so deep into derivatives I have no sympathy for them and still think it was a bad Idea to have bailed em out |
