Any talk on why GLOBEX electronic gold trade was shut down this afternoon (13:15 to 18:00 local time in NY) as the flatline in gold trading was quite unusual (almost like a "Bank Holiday" when nasty economic things happen like confiscation of gold in "official bullion warehouses" ????? - - - If you have ETF or some-such in "paper gold" then convert and take delivery of the physical stuff IMMEDIATELY...

Or was it just a glitch on the Kitco website because they employ cretins who still cannot figure out how many hours in a 24 hour day http://www.kitco.com/gold_currency/charts.htm?AUD look at the GMT times at the bottom of the graph...

Is there a holiday in USA? - "Financial Sense" has not been updated?????? http://www.financialsense.com/index.php and it is 22:15 in NY... What is going on???

Boston, to misquote that comic/truth teller - - - - "******* Brilliant" You deserve this, but - - "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Boston again." - - - It is with wry amusement that I heard the cheering and applause, - - when there should have been embarrassed laughter.....

And all the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and not a politician to be seen

I should have "downunder" visiting the build before this weekend and I am waiting to hear from Dan & Sue from Sydney to get in touch as they like my build from this net...

I also have had an email session with "Speedy Tortise" and wonder if he will have more to add soon... especially with the new Bob Oram 39C MS (for Motor Sailer), - - not MaSalai or 'Multiple Sclerosis'

Why I bother, I know not - you people are so ******* stupid about this I don't know where to begin. Maybe here:
"His ONLY job was to fuel vehicles using petroleum (gas) - Not diesel, not check oil/water, NOTHING else PERIOD." ...And YOUR contribution to humanity? How smug. How vainglorious. You self-important prick, it takes ALL kinds to make up this world, all that should be asked of them is that they do the best they can at what they do. If some have a simple job, say a government worker, a parasite, blight, carbuncle, fungus growing on society - EVEN THAT JOB, if they do it well, will well take care of their family, thus improve humanity. The guy pumping gas probably could have started a business and helped humanity even more if so much of his pay had not been taken to feed the cubicle of some government job. He, if sharp enough, despises the union worker holding a shovel at three times the pay, as more of his pay is drawn to pay for preferential contracts "negotiated" in closed politician's offices. The fact that he is not bitter, and has enough money to take a vacation to the other end of the planet means that there was success in his life. How about YOU, Mas - you havn't been HERE! Does that mean that you were not successful enough to take a vacation? How DARE you rank on some schmuck because YOU didn't like HIS job?

How about THIS bit of cut and paste?:
"The party is over." Might I suggest getting a second job and putting some wheels on this economy?
To be succint, paraphrasing;

#1)Wal-Mart is closing stores. Sam’s Club stores and will cut 1,500 jobs. Wal-Mart IS profitable. Sam's Club never has been - SO?
#2) Americans are going broke at a staggering pace. 1.41 million Americans filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009 – a 32 percent increase over 2008. But less than during the Carter debacle.
#3) American workers are working harder than ever and yet making less. These are non-union jobs. Guess why? - Barack is so busy bailing out UAW, SEIU, etc.with OUR MONEY, there's not much left for highering another worker. Minimum wage is another job killer. Looks good for getting re-elected by stupid asses willing to "stick it to the man" but actually bad, bad, bad. Inflation by my definition (the correct one) is not "a rise in the general level of prices of goods and services in an economy over a period of time." or such drivel. Inflation IS "printing more money". There can be no sustained inflation unless there is more money printed. When the price level rises and real wages don't, everyone makes less money.
#4) Unemployment is absolutely exploding all over the United States. Minority groups have been hit particularly hard. For example, unemployment on many U.S. Indian reservations is over 80 percent. Not much of a comment but "trickle down" does work. You cannot tax the **** out of businesses to pay government salaries and pay for social programs and expect them to think it's a good idea to expand.
#5) Unfortunately the employment situation is showing no signs of turning around. December was actually the worst month for U.S. unemployment since the so-called ”Great Recession” began. All we can hope, is that the people that voted for this ******** stop blaming Bush and realise that this mental child in the Whitehouse (He's smart, I'll give him that but idealistic and naive. When did we start thinking people with no ability to run a business would be a good candidate for running government?) is turning our country into HIS Utopia (Somewhere between France and Southside Chicago). Democrats had Bush's Congress his last four years, remember.
#6) So just how bad are things when compared to past recessions? During the 2001 recession, the U.S. economy lost 2% of its jobs and it took four years to get them back. This time the U.S. economy has lost more than 5% of its jobs and there is no sign that the bleeding of jobs will stop any time soon. It will get worse. Maybe not right away but if it doesn't then they will think that they have succeeded and that will be much worse in the long run.
#7) Can you imagine trying to get your first job in this economic climate? Our young men and women either can’t get work or have given up on work altogether. The percentage of Americans 16 to 24 who have jobs is 13 percent lower than ten years ago. These little F'ers that helped elect "Hope and Change" will become the conservative driving force when they see it didn't work. And THEY ARE EDUCATED (many of them), professional students, if you will. They will grow to HATE their "Ward Churchills".
#8)We have allowed the corporate giants to ship mountains of American jobs overseas. Allowed? Try "forced". The crybaby unions demanding an ever-inreasing benefits package, more pay, better conditions, longer/more breaks, maternity leave for fathers, etc., and unilateral environmental regulations will continue to haunt us until we let the unprofitable pieces of **** get hungry.
#9) All of these job losses are leading to defaults on mortgages. It was a bubble MOSTLY caused by Barney Frank, who will burn in a queer hell.
#10) But that is nothing compared to what is coming. A massive “second wave” of mortgage defaults is getting ready to hit the U.S. economy starting in 2010. In fact, this “second wave” is so frightening that even 60 Minutes is reporting on it. Even 60 minutes? OMG! Don't be upside down in your mortgage or it will hurt and I will profit on your old house.
#11) Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve has announced that it made a record profit of $46.1 billion in 2009. Apparently during this economic crisis it is a very good time to be a bankster.
Just that bank, mostly.

I am growing to dislike George Carlin. (I laughed a couple of time at the last one)

"kinda a cross between yourself and Diego on his views" - and every bit as qualified to express them...

MARK - I was pointing to a cretinous system, so cretinous people like yourself could see the abject stupidity of "dumbing down" good talent to that of pre WW1 "canon fodder" - - I met the man 8 to 10 years ago, he is/was not dumb thick or stupid as you so rudely suggest... Go and play with your own self important stupidity and vanity (or as the comedian suggested, there are bucket loads of PENIS DELUDED IDIOTS lacking an analytical cell in the cavernously empty space between their ears, in the empty malls and businesses being run down by your government, but you all seem too eager to play psudo-politics and waggle your dicks in a "mine is bigger than yours" pissing contest...

Grow up, stop wanking - it will send you blind, (to the very real problems and issues confronting USA) - - - and do something constructive to motivate and give direction to the millions of lost sheeple that have had any imagination and ambition wiped out of their minds by an incessant onslaught of crap emanating from the "money controllers" or whosoever you seek to blame.... DO SOMETHING or if you lack the leadership - FIND SOMEONE and just DO IT

Has that one living cell in your tiny cranium got you angry and excited? - well do something constructive and change the government as per the instructions of your founding fathers... Can you understand that, or are you too thick to piss off and actually do something instead of pissing in this tiny forum....

Stop blaming poofters and other loosers for your own incapacity and inadequacy... If you are half enough a man, then delete your post, (just to show that you have taken on a challenge and not wasting any more time pontificating here), and get into action to become actively involved in an effort to mobilise the downtrodden and set to, to put USA on the path to recovery...

If you post again I will know you for the looser that you will become...

and how is it you can suggest that trickle down economics ( also known in its era as voodoo economics ) is working when the crowds of poor people are growing the numbers in middle class status are shrinking and the top 1% are collecting 90% of the growth

it just doesnt make sense to say that trickle down is working

maybe I missed something but it looks to me and a lot of other people that wealth is becoming more concentrated not less
if wealth actually "trickles down" then how is it that more and more people pr capita are going broke

I think we have digested enough numbers to know that things are not hunky dory in middle class land
why
because laws specifically designed to concentrate wealth among the corporate elite have not resulted in a trickle down effect
what they have done is place us in one big fat ugly financial mess

so Im kinda curious how you can say that trickle down works

best
B

and frankly the thread would not be the same without you Mark
I apreciate the effort you put into that last whether it agrees with my humble opine or not
cheers
B
