Gold has held US$1090 up to half an hour before NY opens (AU$1202)... Now, the NY market is open and gold is on the rise and carry trade is lifting the AU$ quicker than gold so the price of gold is holding at AU$1200 and in US$1093 at 08:38 NY time and my graph is probably delayed.... Will the ride continue

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":


There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed..

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!


P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...

Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

The people are fighting back, there will be a complete transition next fall at the mid-terms, and if the F'ing Republicans spend and cheat like they did last time, they will be hung. Watch in awe as the U.S. (and hence, world) economy recovers if the Dems getting stung yesterday portends anything.
P.S. - Sorry 'bout your gold (have you thot of gilding some ****? It works to fool "em in South America!) but it's a good lesson for you obsessing over what happens here instead of giving a voice locally where you might have an effect.
