Bit of a worry, a lady was killed by a snake in one of our metropolitan beaches last weekend.

Kangaroo meat, I found it not as nice as beef (steak)
Camel meat I found quite yummy.
Emu take it or leave it.
Haven't tried croc yet.

I was always under the impression, (my impressions are weird) that croc meat tastes like chicken because guess what they feed them in croc farms. But if people who eat them from the wild and say they taste like chicken well that blows that theory out of the croc farm.

But, chickens are supposed to be related to reptiles, hence maybe the reason why crocs taste like chickens, or chickens taste like crocs.

Sounds like a croc load to me.

To me, kangaroo tastes like venison without the bloody, gamey taste.

I recently enjoyed seeing my first-ever crocodile in the Florida Everglades. I didn't realize that we had crocodiles 0n the mainland US. I found out that Florida is the only place in the world where both alligators and crocodiles coexist. Although crocs and alligators can grow to about the same size (20'), in the range that they overlap (extreme southern Florida) the temperatures are so warm that the alligator's metabolism is very high, and they can't eat enough to reach their full size potential -- while the crocodiles can reach their full size potential in southern Florida. Thus, the crocs will typically be bigger than the alligators. However, in northern Florida, where it is cooler, alligators can reach 20', but it too cold there for the crocodiles. Another difference between alligators and crocodiles is that alligators typically prefer fresh water habitats, while crocodiles do well in brackish or salt water.

As Hoyt correctly implies, as our planet continues to get warmer, crocodiles are being found further and further north.

Last February I saw an 8' croc patrolling by the Port of the Islands ramp. I did not expect to see him so close to my submerged trailer.

 

Go gator, go!

 

The video would have been better had a bull shark also been noticeably swimming nearby.

 

Maybe a Crocodile Lion Buffalo fight will do . . . ?​
