Just discovered a new site which allows you to pan and zoom as you fly over the location of your choice using USGS aerial photograph data.

It takes a few minutes (seems like a long time) for the java applets to load. Then you use the compass rose to navigate and the zoom bar to zoom. It's a pretty neat site, especially if you have a fast Internet connection.
Of course Microsoft's Terraserver is still very nice too.
