    Thanks Ari,
It is hard to find info on that plant. But I will look into it further. Just about the only thing that will grow on most of the land now is salt bush. A lot of the land is even way beyond these guys salt tolerance.
Do you know how salt tolerent Jathopra is?
    Hans.

A bit of both, costs were huge and not nearly enough public went to cinemas to see the film

Ocean by itself is cheap stage, but filming on the ocean is another meter, it seems. That floating village was very expensive to build and first one sunk so they built it again. Two trimarans were not cheap either, a lot of special equipment kept failing, (electronics and salt water don't mix well), and so it went on and on… It became one of the most expensive films ever.

They should have invested in better screen writing as well. The world they created was quite stylish (reminding me of the 'Mad Max' movies) but not well thought out.

And the super trimaran was a huge joke. In an era of social decline, there would be technological deline as well. In those conditions, such a boat could never be built.

And the watertown would be wrecked by the first huricane or typhoon that came along, so it wouldn't be there either. Whether or not boats, no matter what matterial they are made of can float for decades or even centuries without ever being haulled out seems dubious as well.

And how many oursmen does it take to row a 200,000 ton oil tanker anyway?

With a few well thought out changes, I think the movie could have been made to work with the main premise, thin as it is, pretty much intact.

How about, instead of looking for 'dry land', having them looking for 'new dry land'?

And how about having the 'Deze' completely un powered and condemed to drift the oceans of the world, taking its motorized marauders with it. Wouldn't that be an irony?

I guess it just goes to show that movies made for propaganda purposes usually don't work well. Maybe it's not so much the propaganda itself that hurts it, but what it is allowed to crowd out.

I think the show end when they found land:(.......... very hard to find a new version when the land problem is solved.

About the movie earning.......... I think they covered the cost and earn more than they thought they lost.

No wonder now you see new space movie selling better....... like SERENITY because less people have been in SPACE........:)

    Easy.......

    1. Dont wait for the ice-cube to melt.......... evaporation might be quicker because of heat and wind so he lost a lot of fluid and I dont blame him.

    2. If Ice break off 10% on surface while the rest of the ice is below water-line..... Displacement........ Archimedis?

    3. Ok if the water evaporate at high unbelievable level then the weather system would be moody as rain fall and big spinning vortex will appear giving back the water in the form of rain........ worst......... imagine non-stop rains for days?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

The poles are like crystal growth, it doesnt take days but years........ there is a process of time.

If you break it and wanted an instant poles come back, how would you do?
The poles is the stuff make the weather pressure while the salinity of the water also depend on the rate of ice melt water....... becoming current of ocean flow........

this 2 factor is the depressing part........ the flooding just like the soup in the dinner package....... wait till the meal is over before you burpp............:)
